We have a team of analysts with a broad range of investment experience across defensive industries. Our team is focused on corporate credit investments, primarily senior secured loans managed within collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). We place a premium on defensive industries, recurring revenue models, variable cost structures, low leverage, low CapEx, modest EBITDA add-backs, and solid liquidity. In addition to analyzing the fundamentals, we have a deep background in examining legal docs for cash leakage as well as understanding the technical constraints of the indentures governing our investment vehicles.  

From a performance perspective, an affiliated manager still holds the #2 all time CLO return (IRR of 49%) for a senior loan fund managed in 2000s.  The latest fund managed by our affiliate has an implied IRR over 35% from 2010 through early 2020.  

Our team has a relationship with all the bulge bracket investment banks as well as the established regional banks. We have experience trading loans through multiple cycles.

We built the back, middle, and front office infrastructure for a private business development company as well as the infrastructure for a broadly syndicated loan investment manager owned by a publicly traded business development company. Our investment infrastructure included internal investment file organization, portfolio tracking, and individual diligence materials such as models, screening memos, full committee memos, and third-party requests.  Currently, our portfolio coverage includes over 550 broadly syndicated loans within a broad range of industries.

For our middle office work, we have middle office integration experience with U.S. Bank managing daily reports.

For the back office, we have experience working with fund accountants and auditors at E&Y, KPMG, and U.S. Bank.  Our team has experience working with the SEC for new and on-going registrations. 

Our team built and presented numerous marketing decks for multiple investment managers. We have success arranging and presenting esoteric investment opportunities to both institutional and private investors.
